Exclusive Sticker Design Coming to Reverie Coffee House!

A few weeks ago the lovely Hannah at Reverie Coffee House reached out to me on Instagram and asked if I’d like to design a custom sticker for Reverie. We went back and forth several times bouncing ideas and settled on this hand-drawn design that incorporates a hummingbird, coffee cup, flowers, and Maine. This is my first commissioned/collab design and it was so nice working with Hannah. The stickers are on their way to Reverie and will be available soon!

Birch Landing Home x Reverie Coffee

I’m so excited to be included in their retail section amongst other NE-based makers. Thank you Hannah and Reverie!!

Reverie Coffee House is located in Brunswick, ME with another location opening any day in Bath, ME! You can check them out on Instagram @reverie.coffeehouse

Happy Giving Tuesday!

A tradition I started back in 2016 was to donate a percentage of profits from Birch Landing Home to charity at year end, and it’s a tradition I’ve been proud to continue every year since.

2024 has been a challenging year for a lot of small businesses, including mine. This year I had 4 brick and mortar shops I wholesale to close their doors, many of my remaining wholesale accounts have been cutting back how often they reorder, regular sales on Etsy have been slow, and affiliate sales/ad revenue on the blog are down. Inflation and spending habits have impacted everyone.

Nevertheless I am still planning on making a donation at year-end even if it’s small. I think it’s important to give back when you can and I want to make sure this tradition continues. If you have a suggestion of a charity or non-profit to consider please let me know! And thank you all again for your continued support - even just views, clicks, and likes on social media and my blog or Etsy go a very long way to supporting my business and don’t cost anything. Thank you!

Cheers to 10 Years!

10 years ago today I launched this blog/business. I was a new mom looking for a creative outlet. Over the years I’ve had some pretty amazing opportunities - being mentioned in Martha Stewart Living Magazine and New Hampshire Magazine, being a contributor for an article in Food Network Magazine, getting interviewed for a lifestyle article by The Wall Street Journal. Also working with some huge brands for features like The Home Depot, L.L.Bean, Nûby USA, Lovevery, Safety 1st, and others - not to mention countless amazing local brands.

Despite all that this business has never “made it big” and that’s okay - I’ve really enjoyed this outlet and will continue to work on it and keep it fun. I have so many ideas for products and projects and will continue to make progress towards those ideas as real life allows.

Thanks so much for following along and supporting me these last 10 years - here’s to 10 more of Birch Landing Home!

Best,
Sarah

PS - to celebrate 10 years everything in our Etsy Shop is 10% Off through August 10th.

We Are Losing Our Local Shops and Makers

Shop local, save local small businesses

Money is tight for everyone right now. But please try to support local shops and makers when you can.. we’re losing them at an alarming rate.

As an example - in the past eight months 4 brick and mortar shops I wholesale to have closed their doors. These are shops that employ many local people and buy goods from small businesses like myself. These shops not only support themselves and their employees but so many other small makers and businesses. These shops have all been in business for years and been successful, but times are tough and they had to make difficult decisions.

It’s so sad to see them close, but it’s a ripple effect that goes far beyond that one business. Everyone is struggling right now, but if you’re looking to spend your money please try to shop small and local when you can - thank you from all of us.

Who We Donated to This Year

A tradition I started seven years ago was to donate a percentage of profits from Birch Landing Home at year-end to Charity.  This year we were able to help support The Lustgarten Foundation - I chose to support this charity because Pancreatic Cancer has one of the lowest long-term survival rates and hopefully progress will be made soon towards better treatments and a cure.

Thank you so much for all your support this past year - I am thankful for my Wholesale Accounts and continued traffic on my blog to make these donations happen.  I hope to continue to grow Birch Landing Home and be able to give back more each year in return.  Thank you all!
